Producer Testimonials, Who We Are
|
Joe Neill Neill Cattle Co. Welch, Oklahoma
Joe Neill, a third generation cattlemen, currently serving beef producers of Oklahoma as president of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association. The Neill family was in the feeding business for over forty years and Joe currently runs a stocker operation in northeast Oklahoma. "In our changing environment, both politically and in production, why should we as producers try to survive through these challenging times alone? We can do more by pulling together. NCBA works on all issues for cattle producers and we realize that we don't always agree, but I find that about 85 percent of the time we do. That's not bad when dealing with an industry as large and complex as ours." |

James Bennett Crest Knoll Farm Red House, Virginia
James Bennett, a seedstock producer from Red House, Virginia. James, along with his wife, Barbara, and three sons Brian, Jim and Paul operate Knoll Crest Farms, a diversified Polled Hereford, Angus, Gelbvieh and row crop operation. The Bennett's are actively involved in their community, church and cattle industry because they believe their commitment goes beyond the farms front gate. Bennett has been an NCBA member since 1970. "I strongly believe in giving back to the industry that we have built our lives around and that has given him so much. Our involvement at both the local, state and national level gives us the opportunity to give back." |

Jay Smith Moscow, Idaho
Jay is a fourth generation cow/calf producer from east central Idaho. Like so many other producers across the country Jay is trying to do everything possible to ensure that he will be able to pass on his operation to his children. "With the volume of issues that impact our way of life we must manage as proactively as possible. I think the best way to do this is by being involved in our state and national organizations," said Jay. Growing up Jay heard the stories of how his family fought the rough terrain to bring water to the surface. Today, Jay fights the government to keep it. "In this business we are always battling something. I choose to strengthen my stance through my involvement in the organization that represent my best interest, the Idaho Cattlemen's and NCBA." |
